I discovered a reference to "Aaron Sloman microsoft evangelist", and wondered if I had stumbled into an alternative universe.
It turns out that I have a namesake, e.g. reported here

the "other" Aaron Sloman refereced here is the CEO and founder of speakTECH. The company website is at www.speakTECH.com and it's fairly fast as far as I can tell.
I have just checked. The response is faster than I remember it. Perhaps I last tried on a bad day.
Aha! I used to work with the "other" in the 1990s.
